Isaiah 40:21-31
  1. Have ye not known? Have ye not heard? Hath it not been told you from the beginning? Have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
  2. It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers, who stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in,
  3. who bringeth the princes to nothing; He maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
  4. Yea, they shall not be planted, yea, they shall not be sown; yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth. And He shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
  5. "To whom then will ye liken Me, or shall I be equal?" saith the Holy One.
  6. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, who bringeth out their host by number. He calleth them all by names by the greatness of His might, for He is strong in power; not one faileth.
  7. Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel: "My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God"?
  8. Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding.
  9. He giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might He increaseth strength.
  10. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall;
  11. but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.
Psalm 147:1-11, 20c
  1. Praise ye the LORD! For it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is comely.
  2. The LORD doth build up Jerusalem; He gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
  3. He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
  4. He telleth the number of the stars; He calleth them all by their names.
  5. Great is our Lord, and of great power; His understanding is infinite.
  6. The LORD lifteth up the meek; He casteth the wicked down to the ground.
  7. Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God,
  8. who covereth the heavens with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
  9. He giveth to the beast his food and to the young ravens which cry.
  10. He delighteth not in the strength of the horse; He taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
  11. The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy.
  1. He hath not dealt so with any nation; and as for His judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD!
1 Corinthians 9:16-23
  1. For though I preach the Gospel, I have nothing to glory about, for necessity is laid upon me. Yea, woe is unto me if I preach not the Gospel!
  2. For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, a dispensing of the Gospel is committed unto me.
  3. What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the Gospel, I may make the Gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the Gospel.
  4. For though I am free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
  5. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those who are under the law;
  6. to those who are outside the law, as outside the law (though not outside the law of God, but under the law of Christ), that I might gain those who are outside the law.
  7. To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak. I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
  8. And this I do for the Gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
Mark 1:29-39
  1. And forthwith when they had come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
  2. But Simon's wife's mother lay sick with a fever, and at once they told Him of her.
  3. And He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.
  4. And at evening, when the sun had set, they brought unto Him all who were diseased and those who were possessed with devils.
  5. And all the city was gathered together at the door.
  6. And He healed many who were sick with divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and He suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew Him.
  7. And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, He went out and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
  8. And Simon and those who were with Him followed after Him.
  9. And when they had found Him, they said unto Him, "All men seek for Thee."
  10. And He said unto them, "Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also; for therefore came I forth."
  11. And He preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.
